The REACH Regulation represents one of the most important and extensive regulations on chemicals in Europe.

Normachem offers a specialized consulting service to guide manufacturers, importers, downstream users, and distributors through the various obligations imposed by the Regulation, ensuring compliance and facilitating corporate regulatory management. Our expertise enables companies to effectively comply with regulatory requirements.

REACH Regulation

Regulation (EC) 1907/2006

When referring to REACH, we are referring to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) related to the safe management and use of substances, mixtures, and articles.

The REACH Regulation was created with the aim of improving the protection of human health and the environment through a better understanding of the intrinsic properties of chemical substances, involving manufacturers, importers, and downstream users.

All companies that produce, import, formulate, or distribute chemical substances are actors involved in the REACH Regulation. It is essential to identify one's role within the supply chain and to assess which obligations of the Regulation are applicable to the activities carried out.

Articles under REACH

Article 10 of the REACH Regulation

The REACH Regulation defines an article as "an object which during manufacture is given a specific form, surface or design that determines its function to a greater degree than its chemical composition".

In general, objects commonly used in private homes and industries can be defined as articles or complex articles.

We invite you to contact us to understand how to manage the obligations related to placing articles on the market in compliance with REACH.

REACH Authorization

When talking about REACH Authorization, we are referring to a specific obligation that is imposed in relation to the use of substances listed in Annex XIV of the REACH Regulation. In fact, these substances must request specific authorization from the European Commission to demonstrate that the risks associated with these substances are adequately controlled, or that the socioeconomic impact of not using these substances is excessively demanding.

Normachem offers support to companies that handle these particularly critical substances, both in terms of consultancy and preparation of authorization request dossiers.

REACH Registration

Companies are responsible for collecting information on the properties and uses of the substances they manufacture or import in quantities equal to or greater than one ton/year. These actors must submit a registration dossier to ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) containing information on the substance and - if necessary - an assessment of the risks that the use of the substance could pose.

With our REACH registration consultancy service, we are able to assist you by providing comprehensive support aimed at guiding you step by step through the registration of the chemical substances produced and/or imported, from the execution of characterization analyses to the submission of the dossier.
