Within the framework of the Green Public Procurement – GPP, Italy has established for some goods, services or works the so-called “Minimum Environmental Criteria” (MEC), in Italian “Criteri Ambientali Minimi” (CAM).

The MECs have been introduced through various Ministerial Decrees with the aim of regulating the minimum requirements that each category of product or service must meet in order to satisfy "green" characteristics.

The Public Procurement Code imposes on Public Administrations the obligation to make "green" purchases, hence the mandatory introduction of MECs into tenders. The product sectors involved are different, there are MECs for example, for the supply of textile products, detergents, public lighting, and so on.

For this activity, we are able to support you in evaluating your products/services for compliance with the required Minimum Environmental Criteria.
